Niacin and Heart Disease

It has been proven that high cholesterol levels are a significant contributor to heart disease...... Untrue

Lowering the cholesterol level has been scientifically proven to prevent heart disease and prolong life......Untrue

Even people with established heart disease can slow the progression of their disease and prolong their life by lowering their cholesterol levels......Untrue

Niacin along with diet changes has been shown to reduce the amount of cholesterol and certain fatty substances in the blood.....What does it matter ?

What Niacin does

Niacin is like Viagra and produces a temporary reaction allowing your arteries to expand thus lowering blood pressure and improving circulation.  Niacin does not dissolve the plaque that is causing the restricted circulation and therefore Niacin does not prevent heart disease.

Controlling Cholesterol does not prevent a Heart Attack

Niacin can have significant side effects, including flushing, nausea and vomiting, liver problems, and an elevation of uric acid that can lead to attacks of gout. In addition, no studies have proven that raising HDL cholesterol levels reduces the risk of cardiovascular events.

The American public has been taught to believe cholesterol is the cause of heart disease, it is not, calcium plaque is the cause and the reason many Doctors check their patients calcium score.  The solution is.... remove the calcium plaque and heart disease goes away.

Angioprim the Solution

High cholesterol and cardiovascular disease. A research study published to show the benefit of Niacin.

A 6 year study of over 8,000 men having had a previous heart attack and taking 3,000 milligrams of nicotinic acid daily, had a total blood cholesterol decrease, recurrent nonfatal myocardial infarction decreased by 27%, and strokes decreased by 26% compared with a placebo group. Though nicotinic acid therapy did not decrease total deaths or deaths from cardiovascular disease during the 6-year study period, post-trial follow up 9 years later revealed a 10% reduction in total deaths.

What is this suppose to mean?

What you don't know is how many of these people died in the nine year period, and why?  What was the real benefit of controlling cholesterol?  Could any of the people in this group have eliminated their heart disease and what real value was the Niacin. How many got liver cancer because they took niacin?
